We’ve been transforming
the industry since 1983.

Halfway between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, and nestled amidst breathtaking Southern Utah red cliffs, our Deseret Laboratories facilities employ 175+ of the industry’s most brilliant minds. As a privately-owned organization, we’ve continuously invested back into our company and our people—adapting and innovating processes for both the nutraceutical (e.g., dietary supplements) and pharmaceutical industries.

We pride ourselves in being one of the highest quality one-stop shop manufacturers, taking raw materials through to full production and packaging. We are a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO), Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), and over-the-counter (OTC) partner.

It started with
two brothers.

1983

“Working for Deseret Labs has been a unique experience. The owners respect the ideas and opinions of employees and are socially committed to the community. DLI is both customer- and employee-oriented. The work environment is very welcoming and I can understand why we have many employees that have worked at DLI for 25+ years.”

1986

The Gubler brothers adopted the name Deseret Laboratories for their growing company, the name carrying sentimental and historic value not just for them but also others living in the state once know as the “Territory of Deseret.” In this region of the states, the beehive symbol and accompanying name “Deseret” (meaning honeybee) have been used for hundreds of years to symbolize the cooperative effort and hard work required to make the desert bloom. The Gubler brothers hoped to infuse this spirit of industry and community within their organization as it adapted to the changes and opportunities that lay ahead of them.

1991

By this time, Deseret Laboratories was no longer a two-man show. After expanding their granulation services beyond gypsum to other calcium-rich materials, customers were also asking them to formulate pharmaceutical tablets. This was an exciting new market demand—so the Gubler brothers brought on tablet experts to help them formulate, coat, and encapsulate pharmaceutical tablets. They also moved into a larger 10,000 square foot space to accommodate their growth.

1998

A new millennium was around the corner and the team was filled with optimism and innovation. Scott and Mark Gubler (now CEO and COO respectively) were investing profits back into the company, hiring the right experts and specialists to grow and hone the services offered. As a result, over 100 highly-skilled employees now worked within the enlarged 53,000 square foot space.

2004

It’s been just over 20 years since Deseret Laboratories began and the team was now taking products through the entire process—from raw materials to packaging. Beyond that, our patented granulation equipment was highly sought after by other manufacturers around the globe. The Gubler brothers continued investing back into the company, which now operated within a state-of-the-art 120,000 square foot facility. The company’s marketing plan continued to be simple: word of mouth based on the high-quality products delivered.

2013

By 2013, Deseret Laboratories had been manufacturing dietary supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for 20 years—carving out a name for ourselves in the space. At this time, we started partnering with NSF to offer further Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certifications.

Today

Now nearly 175 of the finest in the industry make up the team here at Deseret Laboratories. Together in our 175,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, we develop the most innovative and highest quality products for our clients. Giving back to the community is one of our company’s priorities—which is why we have a dedicated Deseret Laboratories Chemistry Lab and graduate program with nearby Dixie State University. Our most recently added services—including stick packaging, gummy bottling, and effervescent tablets—is representative of our core commitment for constant innovation in the industry.
